The Safe Spaces for Women and Girls set up by the ‘Refugee Support Initiative’ project marked the International Day of Peace.

A series of interactive activities were organised to mark the occasion, taking place in an atmosphere of sincere and empathetic reflection. Participants from Ukraine and the host communities spoke about understanding, respect, solidarity, tolerance, well-being and mutual support, emphasising their importance for peaceful coexistence.

Particularly inspiring in this regard was the ‘growing and tending’ by the beneficiaries of the Safe Space in Nisporeni of the ‘Tree of Life’, which symbolises harmony, the bond between people, and coexistence. Through creating this, they wished to convey the following message to everyone: ‘We are different, but we live on the same planet. Peace means life; it means accepting this diversity. Let us be different and choose life!”.
On International Peace Day, people spoke and dreamt of… THE DAY WHEN THERE WILL BE PEACE FOR EVERYONE…

The ‘Initiative to Support Refugees’ project is being implemented by the PRO DIDACTICA Educational Centre, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), as part of the Humanitarian Response in the Republic of Moldova.
