About the Journal

The educational theory and practice journal Didactica Pro... is the press organ of the Pro Didactica Educational Centre. It began its activity on June 28th 2000. The journal is targeted mainly at educators (such as teachers and lecturers) and educational managers, as well as students and anyone else with an interest in education.

The journal was accredited by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research as a Category B publication (Decision no. 19 of December 6, 2019 of the Board of Directors of NAQAER); ISNN 1810-6455.

In the 19 years since it was first published, Didactica Pro… has been offering all education actors, as well as any other readers interested in the educational system, a wealth of informational support, innovative educational approaches, and efficient working instruments, thus contributing to the building of a lifelong learning culture.

Our journal’s goals are:

  • Supporting educational reform in the Republic of Moldova;
  • Denoting the principles of “New Educations”;
  • Tackling educational challenges and raising public awareness;
  • Disseminating accounts of advanced experience in school education and higher education in the Republic of Moldova as well as abroad;
  • Promoting the traditions and the cultural and spiritual values of the Romanians and of other ethnic groups living in Republic of Moldova;
  • Promoting European integration aspirations via education.

Concept: Each issue is built around one major topic of importance in the domain of education. According to their main focus, the articles fall into one of the following categories:

ARGUMENT (The Argument): an overview of the current issue’s theme by the Editor-in-Chief;
CURRICULUM VITAE: the activity of an educational institution applying new educational technologies and its current achievements;
RUBICON MANAGERIAL(A Manager’s Rubicon): articles for educational managers and anyone else interested in the way education is organised;
EX LIBRIS: reviews of recently published books on education;
QUO VADIS?: discussions on the most pressing issues of education today;
MAPAMOND EDUCAŢIONAL (Education on the World Map): informs readers about various aspects of education abroad;
EX CATHEDRA: a theoretical and practical foundation for the issue’s main theme;
DOCENDO DISCIMUS; EXERCITO, ERGO SUM; DEZVOLTAREA GÂNDIRII CRITICE (Developing Critical Thinking) are three mainly applicative categories of major interest for gymnasium and lyceum teachers;
PONDEROSA VOX: relevant opinions expressed by theoreticians and practitioners;
EVENIMENTE CEPD (Events at Pro Didactica): overviews of and reports on teachers’ conferences, roundtables and other similar projects of the Pro Didactica Educational Centre;
VADEMECUM PSIHOLOGIC (Psychological Vademecum): relevant information for school teachers and school psychologists;
RUBRICA EDUCATORULUI (The Tutoring and Nurturing Section): ideas intended to help kindergarten teachers and class tutors in their work;
DICŢIONAR (Dictionary): explains and contextualises key terms and concepts in education. 

The members of the editorial board are established specialists in the field of education both in Moldova and abroad. Their details may be found in the Editorial Board section.
The articles are authored by scholars, school managers, school teachers, university lecturers, psychologists, and journalists from Moldova, Romania, Israel, Belgium, Ukraine, Hungary etc. 

Beneficiaries: educational managers, teachers, lecturers, school psychologists, parents, pupils, students, the scholarly community, decision-makers etc.

Achievements to date: 115 issues focusing on a number of essential topics, such as Health Education, Education and Durable Development, Education for Culture, Quality and Relevance in Education, Educational Research, Teacher Attestation, Education through and for Reading, The School Textbook, Education for European Integration, Developing Critical Thinking, The School-Family Partnership, Assessment, Strategic Management, Open Educational Resources, Project-based Learning, Communication Competences, New Paradigms in Education, The School as a Community Centre, New Approaches towards the National Curriculum, Innovation in Education, Teaching Technology etc.; 10 supplements (RWCT Methodology; RWCT Strategies; Learning through Collaboration etc.); numerous roundtables (A School for All – A School for Everyone; Educational Outcomes etc.); opinion polls (Educational Reform: Quo Vadis?; The Assessment System: Realities and Perspectives; Promoting Professionalism and Competence at Educational Policy Level etc.); interviews etc.  

The journal publishes 6 issues a year. It may be found in the catalogue of Moldovan periodicals (code 31546) in all national post offices. In Chisinau, subscriptions are also available at the Moldpresa (code 31706) and Press Inform-Curier agencies. All published articles are archived and indexed by the National Bibliometric Instrument.

Didactica Pro… provides free and open access to all past issues except current year issues; i.e. all issues published before the current year are freely available on the journal’s website. Open access means that readers are free to download, quote, and distribute the journal’s materials, provided that copy right is respected and relevant reference is made to the author and the source when cited; no further permission need be sought from either the editorial board or the authors.

Partners: Over the years the journal has enjoyed the partnership of such organisations as the Pro Didactica Educational Centre, the Soros Foundation in Moldova, the International Reading Association, the Social Investment Fund of Moldova, the US Government, RE:FINE OSI – Resourcing Education: Fund for Innovations and Networking, the Open Society Institute, the Speranţa Day Care Centre etc.
