TEACHER’S TRAINING PROGRAMS WITHIN THE PROJECT ”GENDER EDUCATION FOR PREVENTING AND COMBATING DISCRIMINATION”, SUPPORTED BY THE SOROS FOUNDATION – MOLDOVA
During the months of August and September 2016, over 50 teachers (3 groups) participated to the interactive training programs to empower professional teaching of the optional discipline – EDUCATION FOR GENDER EQUALITY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, according to the curriculum and updated teaching materials.
The training program is carried out in the 3 + 1 format, 3 days of training and one day of certification, in which teachers assists to an exchange of directed experience, sharing the first results (successes and problems) on the application of the gained knowledge at the EC PRO DIDACTICA. The application possibilities are various, from the optional classes to the educational classes, but also using of materials at the meetings with parents or methodical seminars in schools. The first group completed the program last week and we were able to conclude on the effectiveness, actuality and the attractiveness of the teaching approaches. Teachers demonstrate increased motivation and interest in learning of this subject, useful in a personal and professional development plan in our society, in which more people may be victimized by the gender stereotypes and discriminatory behaviors, with consequences for a whole life.
The training program will continue during the months of October and November and will integrate both teachers from the both sides of the Nistru river and managers from the Departments of Education, Youth and Sport and representatives from NGOs.
