INAUGURATION OF THE TEACHING RESOURCE CENTER FOR INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION AT COMRAT STATE UNIVERSITY

On October 28, 2020, at the State University of Comrat took place the inauguration of the Teaching Resource Center for Intercultural Education, created and endowed within the project Promotion and development of intercultural education in initial teacher training, implemented by C.E. PRO DIDACTICA, in partnership with the State University of Comrat, the State University of Moldova, the Alecu Russo State University of Balti, with the support of the Foundation for Pestalozzi Children from Switzerland. 

The local coordinator of the project, Mrs. Maria Ianioglo, PhD, associate professor, highlighted the priority directions and basic activities carried out within the intercultural education project, the challenges encountered, the results achieved, but also the perspectives on project sustainability. Congratulatory messages on the occasion of the opening of the Teaching Center came from the participants in the event: Serghei Zaharia, rector, PhD, associate professor; Viorica Goraș-Postică, PhD, university professor, project expert; Olga Morozan, education officer, Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation; Natalia Gaidarji, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Education of ATU Gagauzia; Cristina Bujac, project coordinator; Vitalie Scurtu, project assistant.

The Didactic Resource Center for Intercultural Education is a university subdivision that aims to establish an educational environment conducive to intercultural dialogue and collaboration between students and teachers, in order to implement best practices and initiatives on personal development and training of future teachers in intercultural education, promoting the development of intercultural competence and other key competences, the active integration of future pedagogical students in the educational activities of educational institutions, in the context of formal, non-formal and informal education. The academic community of Comrat State University highly appreciates the support provided by the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation in Switzerland for the development of an intercultural educational environment.
