On the 24-26th of August 2016, the EC PRO DIDACTICA has organized the first training program within the project “Gender education for preventing and combating discrimination”, implemented with the financial support of the Soros Foundation – Moldova. In this course 18 didactical staff were involved, including 4 teachers of history and civic education, 4 teachers of Romanian language, 2 of biology, 1 of geography, 3 school managers and 5 school psychologists.

During the activity were identified the participants’ expectations, relates to: an increased interest in new information, learn from each other’s experience, knowledge of the details of the new aspects introduced in the Book, good relationships with trainees and trainers, different possibilities for the implementation of the information provided, not only on the optional disciplines, but also on the meetings with parents, at educational classes, and on other school disciplines from all cycles: primary, secondary, and higher education.

The trainers experts – Loretta Handrabura and Viorica Goraş-Postica – notes that interest in this course was increased to 85% of participants who were not at such trainings, as well as the high involvement of trainees, each presented case studies and happenings when they were discussing socialization, gender identity, gender education. The change in attitude of the participants towards gender perception and forms of discrimination was noted in 90% of them, thanks to the understanding of the complex issue of the gender mainstreaming and arguments in all social spheres of the individual. There were identified problems most delicate and the psychologists experience was helpful in overcoming them. Impact on trainees lies in the fact that they took notice as a result of discovering the legal framework, understanding of key concepts etc. and began to treat differently the gender issues of privacy / professional / public.

In general, the educational impact on participants was of a positive nature and even easily noticed in some discussions with obvious expressions of opinion. The proposed objectives were fully achieved.
