SHIFT EDU: THE SECOND STAGE OF TRAINING OF TRAINERS FOR TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
Starting with October 29, the 17 teachers participating in the training course for trainers of the program “Development of digital skills of teachers in technical vocational education”, developed within the Shift Edu project, entered the second “training session” , which will last 5 days. Students are prepared to provide training in digital education at the institutional and national levels.
The training started with the presentation by the students of the homework, which they received after the first learning module, held in August: making a product / activities with the application of two digital tools and a summary description of the experience (strengths and weaknesses, difficulties, the degree of involvement of trainees, their feedback). Most of them made videos, using animation elements, editing applications learned from the previous session.
Designed in an interactive style, meant to capitalize on the products of individual and group work, the activity continued with the approach of the topics chosen for this phase:
- the educational site – the stages of elaboration, the instruments used, the types of contents, their collection, adaptation, placement, publication and development, etc .;
- interactive whiteboard – creating and managing basic objects; specialized software and specialized software tooling for ICT, creation of digital educational content using specialized software for interactive whiteboard;
- Internet – browsing; searching, filtering, storing and managing digital content; sharing and protecting information through digital technologies; online security etc.
Along the way, students had the opportunity to work with a wide range of educational resources, developed by the team of authors of the program, but also in free distribution, as well as means, methods, models of teaching activity. And this time, the educational strategies chosen were very varied: student and group focused, cognitive and metacognitive, inductive and deductive, critical thinking development, etc .: lecture, demonstration, explanation, debate, discussion, exercise , project, questioning, testing, etc.
The sessions of the last two days of training (November 6-7) will focus on the following topics: ICT to facilitate active learning methods and digital competence (IBL, QBL); ICT for extended access to learning; digital classroom management with LMS Moodle. The group of trainers, Andrei BRAICOV, Angela GLOBA and Tatiana VEVERIŢA will be joined by Michelle ILIEV and Cătălina ŢURCANU, members of the Shift Edu project team, with an intervention on open educational resources.
The program “Development of digital skills of teachers in technical vocational education” is aligned with European Union standards, based on “DigCompEdu”, a reference framework to support the development of digital skills of teachers at all levels of education, but also in adult education . It aims to strengthen the digital training of practicing teachers and provide innovative tools for classroom activities, for a better quality of the instructional-educational process.
The Shift Edu project “Digital skills for employment in the modern economy”, implemented by the PRO DIDACTICA Educational Center between December 2018 and November 2021, with the financial support of the Austrian Development Cooperation, aims to integrate information and communication technologies (ICT) in vocational education technically, by: increasing the support provided to managers, improving the digital skills of teachers, developing digital content for several trades and specialties, the appropriate endowment of institutions.
