DISTANCE LEARNING: TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS IN TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Between April 14-29, the teachers from 91 technical vocational education institutions will benefit from 9 online sessions of continuous professional training from the perspective of using distance information technologies.

They are organized within the Edu Shift project “Digital skills for employment in the modern economy”, implemented by the Educational Center PRO DIDATICA, with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency from the funds of the Austrian Development Cooperation Program, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.

The first session took place today. In the opening, Silviu Gîncu, head of the Technical Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, thanked the teachers for their efforts in conducting the distance learning process, emphasizing that training in the use of information technologies is one of the ministry’s priorities. which it represents. Rima Bezede, president of the C.E. PRO DIDACTICA underlined that the launch of a training program focused on the development of digital skills of TVET teachers in order to organize and implement distance learning has become a necessity and a desideratum, supported ad-hoc and methodologically provided by the Shift Edu project. “Teachers in technical vocational education will address practical issues related to organizing an online lesson. What the? When? How? these are just a few questions that will be answered through model lessons, as well as methodological suggestions, debated in a participatory way by teachers. ”

The online sessions, facilitated by Andrei Braicov, Sergiu Corlat and Tatiana Veverița, will focus on the following topics: distance learning design, typology of distance learning resources, digital communication, multimedia resources: their creation and use, organization of interactive distance activities, creation of digital courses, distance education tools (document management, class management, etc.) etc.

During the 9 trainings, teachers will be informed in detail about the opportunities and benefits of distance learning, which, in recent weeks, has proven its value all over the world: capitalizing on free tools in organizing interactive distance activities; cloud solutions; creation of portfolios-files; the use of Google Classroom, Google Sites and other means for the proper conduct of the distance learning process.

The cycle of online training sessions will contribute to increasing the level of digitalization of technical vocational education, by strengthening the skills of teachers to ensure the quality of the distance learning process.
