General presentation: Considering the importance of Adult Education and Life Long Learning as an instrument to foster the participation of people in cultural, social, economic and sustainable development, and in poverty reduction, the above contracting parties agree to cooperate in the field of adult and non-formal education. The initiative is part of an transnational project, co-funded by the EU, ERASMUS + to promote and investigate Bildung practices in the world, from different perspectives – Building Inclusive Lifelong Learning Systems by Developing a European Understanding of Bildung for the Next Generations – https://europeanbildung.net/erasmus-bildung-project/. Bildung is a complex and elusive phenomenon and the concept has deep roots in European thinking and education. There are many definitions of Bildung out there; the European Bildung Network defines it like this: Bildung is the combination of the education and knowledge necessary to thrive in your society, and the moral and emotional maturity to both be a team player and have personal autonomy. Implementation period: 01.02.2021-31.12.2021.

General objective:  Organizing for and conducting the Survey ”Bildung in adult learning for promoting sustainability”.

Specific objectives and activities: structuring the research outline, preparing the background paper, collection of good practices, compiling the guidelines and participation in dissemination webinar and other events.

Project budget: 6100 EUR. Financing is subject to the provision of funds by the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany.
